The Version of Me That Only Knew Survival-Email edition

Have you ever stopped to think about the version of yourself that only knew how to survive?

I have.

For many women, survival doesn't look dramatic. It looks responsible.

It looks like always being the dependable one.

The one who holds everything together.

The one who doesn't ask for help because she's convinced it's easier to do it herself.

The one who keeps pushing through, even when she's running on empty.

After a while, that way of living starts to feel normal. You stop questioning the exhaustion because you've carried it for so long. You convince yourself that being tired is just part of being a woman, a mother, a wife, a leader, or a caregiver.

But what if it's not?

What if you've been calling survival "strength" for so long that you've forgotten what peace feels like?

One of the things I've learned—both personally and professionally—is that hyper-independence is often celebrated, but it usually has a story behind it.

Sometimes it's the result of disappointment.

Sometimes it's betrayal.

Sometimes it's growing up believing that if you didn't take care of yourself, no one else would.

So you became capable.

Independent.

Resilient.

And while those qualities aren't wrong, they can quietly become walls that keep you from receiving the care, support, and rest your soul has been longing for.

Healing doesn't mean you stop being strong.

It means you no longer believe you have to carry everything by yourself.

That's one of the reasons June's Retreat is so close to my heart.

It's not about escaping your life for a weekend. It's about creating space to lay down what you've been carrying, reconnect with yourself, and allow God to meet you in places that have been running on survival for far too long.

And if a retreat isn't possible right now, I'd love for you to join our membership community. It's a place where we have honest conversations about healing, faith, emotional wellness, and learning how to live from a place of peace instead of survival.

You don't have to keep proving how strong you are.

Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is admit you're ready for something different.

I'm so grateful you're here.

With you on the journey,
