From Surviving to Thriving: The Story Behind The Unfinished Bride

There was a time when I didn’t know what healing could look like or that I needed healing because I was good at "thriving" through the pain points of my life. I was surviving, showing up for others while silently bleeding on the inside. But even in those broken seasons, God was doing something deeper than I could see. He wasn’t just holding me together; He was rebuilding me through His love.

This month, I celebrate two very personal milestones: my birthday and the anniversary of The Unfinished Bride. Both are reminders that what once looked like endings were really beginnings.

The Unfinished Bride was born from a season of pain and purpose colliding. It started as a blog—a place to process the wounds that words couldn’t always express. Over time, it grew into a ministry, a community, and a voice for women who’ve walked through heartbreak, trauma, and loss but still longing to heal.

I named it The Unfinished Bride because that’s who I was—unfinished, but not unworthy. Still healing, but hopeful. Still learning to love, but no longer settling for pain disguised as love.

When I look back now, I see God’s hand in every detail. The relationships that broke me, the tears that purified me, the prayers that carried me and all of it became part of the story He was writing through me.

This anniversary and birthday aren’t just celebrations of age or achievement. They’re celebrations of becoming, of surviving what could've destroyed me, and learning to thrive in what was meant to grow me.

If you’ve ever felt unfinished, I want you to know that you’re right where God can use you. Healing is not about perfection—it’s about surrender. It’s about learning to live whole, even while you’re still healing.

To celebrate this season of grace and growth, I’m offering my book When the Bleeding Stops for just $10 this month. It’s my gift to every woman who’s ready to stop surviving and start thriving.

Here’s to healing, hope, and unfinished journeys made beautiful by God’s hands. 💜
